girls night..... of SEWING!

what a fun and funny way to spend time with sweet friends!  kelly, megan and I got together for a last minute girls night full of sewing. HOW FUNNY!  we had such a great time. they each brought idea that they wanted to make and so we began:

Megan wanted to make a lovey blankie for her friend who lost her baby at 34 weeks pregnant. Such a sad story. she is so sweet to make this as a gift and it is so soft and will be with her friend forever. Megan did a great job. we monogrammed the minky swirl fabric before attaching it to the silky satin. Here is the front and back of the lovey:

kelly wanted to make a modified pillowcase dress. She got the pattern from the Prudent Baby blog. Simple instructions and this turned out really well for our first time to make one of these!  She even went home and made more over the weekend PLUS a tie for Quin! Here is a picture of the first go round along with sweet lily modeling it.

I bought a new part for my sewing machine - a RUFFLER FOOT!  I love it!  wow, i can't believe how easy it is to make ribbons ruffle!  notice the bottom of the dress above. it is a ribbon that we put through the ruffler foot on my machine. so much easier than a basting stitch.
