quilting - really?

i keep seeing these really cute quilting projects on pinterest.com and i couldn't help myself but to try a few.

my first attempt was quilted coasters. i think they turned out pretty cute. really great idea to give away as a gift.

my second attempt was a tiny quilted basket i saw on pinterest.com and then linked to the tutorial. it was so simple to make and the directions were REALLY easy: http://ayumills.blogspot.com/2008/05/tutorial-fabric-basket.html

my third attempt - same idea, but bigger basket!  it really turned out to be more of a bag than a basket. The material doesn't stand up like it does in the smaller version. still really cute though. i did 4x4 inch squares and then eyeballed everything else.

and finally, i took a picture of both "baskets" side by side so you could see the difference in size.

 the best part about quilting - imperfections aren't very noticeable!
